Piston & Chain began as an informal weekly motorcycle maintenance gathering in Matt Work’s San Francisco home garage  
(a pretty nice garage with nice tools and a several really nice bikes). As a group, we’d collaborate on difficult (and easy) motorcycle projects while simultaneously meeting like-minded (bike-minded!) enthusiasts. It became obvious that there was a lot of interest within the San Francisco motorcycle community to have a shared workspace and a community hub from which to create, inspire and propagate motorcycle adventures. 

Today, we're in a bigger workshop, but we continue to build and market a community where motorcycle adventure is celebrated by enthusiasts tinkerers of all styles and skill levels. In our SoMa space, you'll find shared workspace, community tools, special events, mechanical instruction, apparel, accessories and a rotating carousel of nice bikes. Come in and check us out and learn more about our membership benefits.
